I AM A retired police officer having lived in Horsham with my family since 1971 when I was posted here on promotion. At that time West Street was open to one way traffic with narrow busy pavements.
The town has changed completely during the time that I have lived here, all for the better. The pedestrian shopping areas are a delight and it is safe for families and children to shop and enjoy the cafes.
We do not require vehicle access to West Street, even during the evenings. We as council tax payers do not require the massive expense of the changes that will be required to allow access. We waited for years for the work to be completed in order to create the town centre we now have. Let’s leave well alone.
Finally is it not about time that the council stopped wasting our money on these consultants who come up with these crazy ideas?
