Many losses are regretted

Have your say

WHATEVER else are we going to lose in Horsham?

It was a terrible shame to suddenly have the King’s Head, the finest old pub in the centre of the town, close.

We can now only look at the exterior of our Old Town Hall, another grand old building and Horsham icon.

Then there was Leonardslee Gardens which, for us, are no longer visitable.

Now comes the sad news (County Times September 22) that The New City Jazzmen will not again be heard on the Carfax Bandstand. For so many years it has been a great pleasure to sit and listen to them brightening up our Saturday shopping expeditions and they will be greatly missed. Thank you jazzmen and jazzlady Penny for the great entertainment you have given us over the years.

Having just seen on TV the news of the fire, I can only hope that the West Sussex County Times is not going to be the next on this list.

Wouldn’t it be lovely now if we could spend a sunny day at Leonardslee, followed by a dinner at the King’s Head and then go to listen to The New City Jazzmen at The Old Town Hall, making a great story and pictures for the West Sussex County Times.

Ah! Dreams!
