Majority rejected housing numbers

I saw with interest the article by the Horham District Council leader in the WSCT of November 29 which starts ‘We don’t want any more houses’, is the fairly frequent cry from the letters’ columns of this newspaper’.

It would perhaps have been helpful to have followed that remark with the results and analysis of the consultation run by Horsham District Council between February 10 and April 10 this year.

In that consultation comments were invited on ‘How much housing does Horsham District need?’.

As far as I recall the vast majority of answers rejected the amount of housing proposed at that time by Horsham District Council as being too high.

In the interests of ‘localism’ we should all know how the public responded to the HDC consultation, and whether my recollection is correct.
