Following your request for help identifying a 1982 picture which appeared in the Memory Lane section of the County Times, I can tell you that it was The Five Bells, London Road, Pulborough.

It has long since been converted into houses, but used to be a very popular village pub with a very nice landlord and my family used it on many occasions, including a wedding reception.

The location of the mystery Bistro was The Five Bells public house in London Road, Pulborough. Unfortunately the pub was converted into houses.

Great pub!

The photo of the Five Bells Bistro was taken long before I lived in the South but having lived in Pulborough, I wonder if it was part of the Five Bells pub which was converted into apartments eventually?

I remember going to the pub in the late 1990s - it didn’t have a bistro then as far as I remember but could well have done before that.
