LETTER: Sadness as Red Cross closes

A sad day for Horsham and surrounding districts at the closing of the local branch office in Rushams Road, Horsham, of the British Red Cross on the 25th February.

This charity has been in the town for over half a century and as a local volunteer myself I felt it was very much appreciated.

Local people have been so well looked after in their times of need and in my opinion help was second to none. At the farewell meeting it was a chapter in our local history and as one volunteer who has been with the charity for over 60 years it marked a very sad day indeed.

This facility will leave all our residents who need prompt care and advice in our local area sadly lacking.
