LETTER: Novel approach to consultation

How refreshing to visit the Horsham Blueprint exhibition in Swan Walk last weekend and find a public consultation that really was a true consultation.

Local residents were asked to give their thoughts and views on the future of Horsham to the forum who will afterwards create the Horsham Neighbourhood Plan.

No tick box predetermined options were presented, we could put forward our own ideas. How novel!

In the past I have taken part in other local consultations where only a Hobson’s Choice or very limited options were presented to the public for ‘consultation’, usually only after all of the key decisions have been made.

Horsham District Council please take note.
