Shelley’s Fountain is no more - thanks to certain local politicians in the former home of Percy Bysshe Shelley.

It is so very sad to reflect it takes a former United States President - John F. Kennedy - to recognise the importance of this treasured county poet.

Horsham politicians seem to make a habit of destroying their local heritage.

Remember St Mark’s Church? Its tower was saved from destruction at the last minute by an enraged community - only to be trapped within a giant office complex.

Chichester has its Cathedral. Crawley has its Airport. Horsham has....?
