World leaders, many of whom don’t normally talk to each other, gathered in South Africa to remember the life of Nelson Mandela.
It seems fitting that the life of one man who changed the course of a nation and became an inspiration to millions should be celebrated in this way.
By his own words, he was not a saint, but through his courageous stand against racial injustice and commitment to reconciliation when he came to power, he will be remembered for generations to come.
In the coming week, people from every race around will gather to celebrate the life of another man who has changed the course of all of humanity forever.
He is the standard by which all other lives must be measured because he is Emmanuel, ‘God with us’.
He has brought light into the world and of his government and peace there will be no end.
