In February 2012, Corporal Jay Baldwin from Crawley was severely injured whilst serving for his country on his final tour of Afghanistan. He lost both legs, one above the knee and one below. He also suffered injuries to his hands and forearms.
Despite this, Jay has shown extraordinary determination and character to get walking again. After only four months, this has been achieved!
A pivotal part of Jay’s recovery has been the support given by BLESMA. This is the reason why I am looking to raise funds, to say thanks to BLESMA for supporting my friend and to ensure that the charity can continue to change the lives of those who sacrifice so much for our country.
My challenges are to complete the Brighton Half Marathon on February 17, 2013 and the ten Mile Great South Run on Sunday October 28, 2012 which will be broadcast live on Channel 5.
