HORSHAM District Council has received a planning application for replacement of number 39 Furners Mead Henfield.
In Furners Mead there are 39 single storey bungalows with low pitched roofs. The applicant has applied to replace the fire damaged bungalow with a two storey dwelling thus changing the whole street scene as it will be one two storey building amongst 38 single storey dwellings.
If planning permission is allowed for this one it will not be long before another single storey bungalow will be developed thus depriving the elderly and disabled of suitable properties.
Surely the council has a responsibility for people with physical disabilities and the elderly as well as affordable homes for the young?
I am sure the people of Henfield do not realise the implications of this application.
