Watching the crowds converging on the Carfax on Sunday to commemorate the War Dead, I was struck by a sense of irony.
The rows of people who came to respect those who fought and died so that we could live in a free country, are the same people who, come election time, consistently vote to throw away everything these brave souls fought for, by electing politicians who want to hand control of this country to a foreign power in Brussels.
As a consequence, we now live in a German dominated Europe, where our Prime Minister takes his orders from unelected foreign bureaucrats, and we have to pay £50mto Brussels every day for the pri vilege.
This is the legacy of servitude we shall bequeath to future generations. In doing so we betray both the fallen and those yet unborn.
