OPPOSITE the Millennium Hall in Roffey, Horsham, is a row of abandoned shops - boarded up for some years. The site owners submitted a planning application some time ago, which was refused. Since then the site has been left to rot amidst the vermin that such a site will inevitably attract.
Such an eyesore detracts from one of the main entrances to Horsham. The town makes praiseworthy efforts to attract visitors - the Nature Garden, the French Market and so on - but has so far not used its powers of enforcement to either develop the site; have it razed; make it habitable for temporary housing - at least something!
I hope you will publish this letter to raise councillors’ and the public’s awareness of this issue.
