Club was ‘too hungry to wait’

Cote Brasserie in East Street again hosted the Horsham French Club’s annual dinner, offering a specially-themed menu to more than 50 of the club’s members.

Commenting on the evening, Cote manager Lauren Barnett said ‘they are very welcome and we’re pleased they like our brasserie’s ambiance but on this occasion they rather took us by surprise. We usually expect to see them on the French National day, the 14th of July, but this year it seems they were too hungry to wait’.

An active element of Horsham’s social life for over 20 years, the French club holds monthly meetings from September to June at Roffey Millenium Hall.

The club president, Carole Noble, says, ‘We aim to entertain and inform all with an interest in France, its history and culture. We are not attempting language teaching and membership ranges from complete newcomers to native French speakers’.
