MORE than 200 local people turned out in force on Sunday March 25 for the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile at Graylands Estate, Horsham, which was hosted by local presentation company, Unibind Systems.
Milers of all ages were sponsored to do one, three or six miles around the collection of offices situated in a parkland setting.
The day was a massive success with friends, families and workmates joining together in friendly rivalry to go the extra mile for Sport Relief 2012.
With picture-perfect blue skies and a stunning setting, the Graylands Mile provided the ideal location for a charity run. But the fun didn’t stop at the Mile, with a bouncy castle, face-painting, Easter Egg Hunt and a spectacular performance from Graylands Estate’s own Fi Steps dancing school.
We couldn’t have hoped for a better day. Watching the community come together to support such a great cause was brilliant!
We feel very proud knowing the money raised here will help people living unimaginably tough lives right here in Horsham, across the rest of the UK, and in some of the world’s poorest countries.
More than one million men, women and children came together to walk, run or hop one, three or six miles at the hundreds of Sainsbury’s Sport Relief events that took place across the length and breadth of the country over the Sport Relief weekend.
The Sport Relief 2012 total currently stands at £52,070,587 with more still coming in from Milers getting sponsored and the public raising money in all sorts of inventive and challenging ways.
Sport Relief would like to say a huge thank you to each and every person who has donated money or given their time to go the extra mile.
