Appalled at history loss

Have your say

WHILE I was pleased to read that Ye Olde King’s Head in Horsham’s Carfax is being used once more as a hostelry, I was sorry to read that ‘the interior has been completely gutted of its historical significance’ (County Times May 3).

As the building has been used as a hostelry and for other public meetings since 1401, I am appalled that newcomers can remove so much of the town’s history.

I have not visited the new establishment but feel sure that many other senior citizens, who have lived here for many years, will feel the same way.
