Rudgwick Neighbourhood Plan to be discussed at preservation society's meeting

The Horsham Plan – Will it Protect Communities from development?

Dr Roger Smith from Campaign to Protect Rural England will outline the CPRE’s views on the plan for North Horsham and other large and small villages around Horsham. Rudgwick is only a small community compared with Broadbridge Heath, Billingshurst and Southwater, but may have to accept some changes. What are these, and how should we react? What about the extra traffic on the A281, the pressure on local services, and the unknown threats from possible airport expansion on the plan itself as well as on our skies? What about possible development in nearby Surrey, with the talk of a new settlement at Dunsfold aerodrome, and its effect on Horsham District?

Rudgwick Parish Council are embarking on a long awaited Rudgwick Neighbourhood Plan so this is exactly the right moment for the people of Rudgwick to get to grips with these issues. All are invited to come, and join in the discussion.

To round off the meeting, the Director of CPRE Sussex Kia Trainor will give an overview of the county issues which are currently of interest to CPRE. CPRE is actively campaigning on our behalf on a wide range of development issues in west and east Sussex.

Entry is free to members, and £2 for non-members. There will be a very short AGM at the start, and coffee and biscuits before the talks. The meeting is at Rudgwick Village Hall in Bucks Green on Monday April 25 at 7.30pm.
