Young people seeking advice in Horsham on job hunting, money issues and relationships are encouraged to visit the new-look information centre.

FindItOut is the new name for the Connexions Information Shop at the Y Centre in Albion Way, Horsham, which is run by West Sussex County Council’s youth support and development service for 13-25-year-olds.

The new name comes as the advice service celebrates 20 years of offering information and guidance to young people in the Horsham area. The service was relocated to the Y Centre two years ago having previously been based in East Street for 18 years.

FindItOut now offers help and support with things like housing and homelessness, money and debt, employment and training, physical health, emotional health, family and relationships, benefits, drugs and alcohol, sexual health, free pregnancy testing, free condoms, volunteering, travel advice and legal rights.

The centre is open on Monday and Tuesday afternoons from 1pm to 5.30pm and between 10am and 5.30pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

FindItOut can also help young people through advocacy and mentoring services, counselling, various training courses, access point for crisis support, routes to work scheme, referral agency for accommodation at the Y Centre, career tasters and housing assessment meetings.

Pupils from Tanbridge House School have been closely involved in developing the new service. Students are being invited to a special event on Thursday July 11 to celebrate the new name and mark the service’s 20th anniversary.
