Woman bitten in dog attack

A woman was bitten today in a dog attack.

The incident happened at around 2pm at a home in Steyning.

A spokesperson for Sussex Police said: “Emergency services were called to Oxford Terrace at around 2.15pm on Tuesday (19 July) to reports that a woman had been bitten by a dog.

“The victim was treated by paramedics at the scene and was taken to hospital.

“Police enquiries are continuing with officers at the scene.”

An ambulance spokesperson confirmed they were contacted at 2.10pm today about the attack and were called to a private address in Oxford Terrace. A car and an ambulance were in attendance and left the scene just before 3pm.

Liz Trundle from Steyning was walking past the property when the attack happened.

She said she heard ‘very piercing, loud screams’ and notified a neighbour, who then called for an ambulance.

“Clearly she was in complete pain and didn’t know what to do,” she added.
