Visitors to Wings & Wheels at Dunsfold took part in a minute’s silence yesterday (Saturday August 29), in tribute to those who died in the Shoreham Airshow tragedy.
The large crowd paid their respects during the first ‘wings’ element of the day’s events.
Following enforced Civil Aviation Authority changes as a result of the Shoreham crash, a few alterations had to be made to the Wings & Wheels programme.
However, the airshow part of the day provided plenty of emotion as it included the Vulcan sweeping majestically past as part of its farewell tour.
The Flying Fortress (Sally B) also proved very popular, while the sight of a Typhoon and Spitfire performing a display together was the day’s highlight.
Wings & Wheels continues today.
