Following its 2014 Season opening on Sunday 6th April, the Elizabethan stately home and award-winning gardens at Parham will be open over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend on Easter Sunday, 20th April, and the Bank Holiday Monday, 21st April.
Located in between the West Sussex villages of Storrington and Pulborough, the house and gardens are 20 minutes south of Horsham and 20 minutes north of Worthing and the south coast.
There will be an Easter Egg hunt in the house’s ‘Pleasure Grounds’ on both days from 12pm (with last entries at 4pm) and parents with children are most welcome to come and hunt for chocolate eggs and see the newly hatched 3 week old chicks in the gardens with the rest of the Lavender Cochin chickens and Indian Runner Ducks who are the new ‘Organic Slug Patrol Team’.
Coffees, light lunches, refreshments and cream teas will be available from Parham House’s Big Kitchen and visitors can browse for gifts in the House Gift Shop and for herbaceous plants in The Garden Shop.
The garden team at Parham, led by Head Gardener, Tom Brown, grow and sell over 200 herbaceous perennial plants as can be found in Parham’s famous borders. This is one of the biggest and most comprehensive supplies of quality cottage garden herbaceous plants locally and visitors are encouraged to visit the shop and view the selection.
The gardens are open for the Easter Egg Hunt on both days from 12 noon to 5pm and entry tickets to the gardens & Egg Hunt will be£8 for adults, £22 for families (2 adults and up to 4 children), £7 for Senior Citizens, £4 for children 5-15 years and £free for children under 5.
If visitors want to go into the house too, the usual ticket prices will apply.
