A free event for everyone to find out more about oil and gas exploration and extraction has been organised by West Sussex County Council.

The free event on Saturday (June 21) at Pulborough Village Hall will not only provide information on how the industry is regulated and how everyone can get involved with planning applications, but also some of the science behind the techniques used.

County council media officer Philippa Eld asked the Head of Policy and Communications for the County Council, Samantha Mowbray, why the event has been organised.

Anyone wanting to attend the event, which runs from 9.30am until 4pm is asked to email oilandgas@westsussex.gov.uk to confirm attendance.
