Nearly 2,000 women have swarmed to Horsham Park today (Sunday June 2) for the town’s first ever Race for Life.
Organisers hope to raise around £100,000 for Cancer Research UK.
Joanne Hopkins, 27, from Horsham, said she is running for her aunty who passed away after suffering breast cancer.
“It’s devastating,” she said, “it affects everyone and you support them through all the treatment.
“But today is absolutely fantastic, so many people have come together.”
Kaz Carter, from Heart radio’s breakfast show, told the County Times today is emotionally charged but full of positivity.
“These aren’t marathon runners who are down the gym five or six times a week - these are just normal mothers, sisters, aunties,” said Kaz.
