An emergency lighting manufacturer based in Billingshurst hosted Horsham MP Francis Maude last Friday.
Emergency Lighting Products, based in Natts Lane, manufactures electronics to drive fluorescent tubes or LEDs during power failures.
Managing director David Wright wanted to discuss standardisation of products with a member of the Government.
He said: “It’s really good for the staff of a company that is growing to see interest from the local MP.
“Any opportunity we can have to voice our concerns to a Member of Parliament we are grateful for, and to him to spend the time to come and visit.”
Mr Maude added: “It’s all about hearing directly from businesses, what are their concerns, what’s going well and what’s going badly.
“If they are doing well and want to grow what are the barriers.
“It’s just to get a sense of how things are going and what things the Government can do to help.”
