To end the year 6 children’s topic this term at Arunside Primary School, both staff and children dressed as befits the Victorian era.
Children were taught Victorian style and recorded ‘sums’ and ‘writing’ on slates and learnt a variety of things by rote.
They have learnt so much about this period of history through drama, ICT, English, Maths, Science and all creative subjects. The classroom is awash with beautiful displays showing the children’s knowledge. Mrs Slight, headteacher, said: “The enjoyment, knowledge and understanding the children have gained from this topic has been immense.”
