THREE men have been arrested following a disturbance in Rusper near Horsham on Sunday (May 8).
Police attended the Capel Road area of Rusper, at around 11.48am following a report that a 56-year-old man from Banstead, Surrey, had been threatened and had his car damaged during an altercation involing a number of men.
During the incident it is believed a form of air weapon was discharged.
However, no-one was injured and the suspected firearm was not shot at anyone.
Detective Inspector Russ Sheppard of West Sussex CID said: “We are still investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident and the exact circumstances which led up to the report that a firearm had been discharged.
“This was an isolated incident and all three men are known to each other.”
Two men aged 29 and 48 and both from Rusper, Horsham were arrested on suspicion of firearms offences.
A 24-year-old man from Sandhurst in Berkshire was arrested on suspicion of burglary. They have all been bailed until 22 June.
