FIREFIGHTERS from across Sussex battled a blaze at an industrial estate in Bolney today.
Paramedics, police and six fire engines were called to Ricebridge Works, Brighton Road at 12.17pm.
The fire started in a spray paint shop and staff were evacuated from the premises.
Firefighters used ten breathing apparatus and an aerial platform from Horsham Fire Station, to tackle the flames.
One man was taken to hospital as a precaution after he inhaled smoke but there were no other injuries.
Andy Morley, Station Commander from Horsham said: “We believe it was an accidental fire in the paint spray unit, but we are still investigating the scene.
“The crews arrived quickly and ensured that the fire didn’t spread to the surrounding units.
“There were cylinders in the area and they were removed immediately.
“Hurstpierpoint fire crews were first on the scene and they called in further appliances.”
Firefighters are likely to be at the scene for several hours to ensure there are no further burning materials.
