Network Rail have apologised for not completing work at Littlehaven Railway Station crossing and say that Rusper Road will reopen tomorrow morning (Tuesday October 16).
Readers contacted the County Times to vent their fury at finding Littlehaven Railway Station’s crossing closed earlier this morning.
A spokesperson for Network Rail said: “We apologise for the delay in reopening the road. This is due to a technical problem, which we aim to have fixed, and have everything up and running by tomorrow morning at the start of service (4am).”
John Smith, who lives in Winterborne in North Horsham, said he was assured that the crossing would be open at 6am on Monday morning, but he woke to find it still closed to traffic.
He said: “As I have, with so many others, suffered the cost and delays involved in the road closure for the past two weeks I was utterly dismayed and angry when I discovered that the Littlehaven farce continues.”
Rusper Road was closed from September 30 to allow Network Rail to modernise the level crossing gates, with traffic diverted around to Parsonage Road.
