A three-year-old child has been injured following a collision involving a car yesterday afternoon (Thursday July 5).
Emergency services including Sussex Air Ambulance were scrambled to Billingshurst High Street at around 4.15pm.
Queueing traffic was reported in both directions between the Alicks Hill junction and the Budgens junction.
A spokesperson for South East Coast Ambulance said: “The child was reported to be conscious at the time and has since been taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.”
Sussex Police closed High Street as crews rushed to take the child to hospital.
A spokeswoman for the force added: “It is unclear at this time what the extent of the injuries are to the victim, who is believed to be three years of age, but they are currently being treated as serious.”
