Two other residents were taken to hospital as a precaution after the chemical incident in Horsham yesterday afternoon (Sunday, December 27).

West Sussex Fire and Rescue carried out the decontamination after a 76-year-old man was covered in mercuric iodide at a property on Mill Bay Lane.

He was taken to hospital after being treated by the Hazardous Area Response Team.
