Poor weather conditions are causing delays to train services in and around the Horsham district today (Tuesday March 12).
Heavy snow is reported to have fallen in many areas, which is causing problems with signalling systems. The 9am service from Horsham to Portsmouth Harbour is currently running 20 minutes late and the 9.05am service to Bognor Regis is running at least 15 minutes late.
There is no estimated time of departure for the London via Warnham service normally due to leave at 9.09am. Other services are currently showing as ‘On Time’ currently although passengers have experience short notice delays and cancellations already this morning.
The following train operators are affected until further notice:
Short notice cancellations and delays of up to 60 minutes can be expected across the whole Southern network today.
Passengers trying get to Tonbridge are advised to find alternative means as there are no trains running between Redhill and Tonbridge. No replacement transport is available due to the poor road conditions.
Passengers may use Southeastern, South West Trains and First Capital Connect services on any reasonable routes, First Great Western services between Redhill and Guildford, Brighton & Hove buses on the coastal routes, Stagecoach bus route 700 and the London Underground service between London Terminals
First Capital Connect
Journeys on the route between Bedford and Brighton will be subject to short notice cancellations and delays of up to 45 minutes.
Tickets are being accepted on London Underground, Southeastern, Southern and First Capital Connect (Great Northern route) services on any reasonable routes and East Midlands Trains between Bedford and London St Pancras.
The Gatwick Express services are subject to short notice cancellations because of train stock displacement.
