The A281 in Broadbridge Heath has been reopened following a crash that left a cyclist in hospital this morning (Wednesday May 20).
A spokesperson for South East Coast Ambulance Service said the injuries sustained by the male cyclist were ‘potentially serious’.
He was treated at the scene following the collision near Newbridge Roundabout just after 9am before being flown to St George’s Hospital in Tooting.
Police had closed the main road from around 9.20am, but it reopened at around 12pm.
There was heavy congestion and long tailbacks in the area while emergency services investigated at the scene throughout the morning.
Police are appealing for witnesses. Anyone with information can contact police on 101 quoting Operation Linford.
