Police were called to a five car crash during the morning rushhour on the M23.
The exit slip road southbound at junction 10, A2011 (Crawley), was partially blocked following an oil spillage.
Police were called at 8am. A spokesman said: “The incident, involving a Mercedes, a Vauxhall, a Lexus, a Fiat and a Mazda, occurred on the southbound carriageway, close to Junction 10.
“The highways authority have been called due to an oil spillage and the vehicles are awaiting recovery.
“Minor injuries were reported.”
The area has been cleared and traffic is flowing freely.
