An 89-year-old woman was taken to hospital after her car ended up in a pond in Storrington this morning (Thursday October 23).
The accident took place on the A283 Pulborough Road at about 7.55am.
The front of her car, a Vauxhall Astra, was submerged in the pond but the woman was able to get out unharmed, police said.
She was taken to Worthing Hospital to be checked over and the vehicle was recovered at 9.25am.
An eyewitness reported that she was rescued from the vehicle by a local resident wearing pyjamas.
