Three women were taken to hospital after two cars were involved in a collision near Kirdford yesterday (Monday January 5).

Firefighters cut one of the drivers from her car using hydraulic rescue equipment following the incident between the blue Vauxhall and silver Ford in Kirdford Road at about 4.50pm.

The other two women involved in the incident were treated by paramedics at the scene.

Sussex Air Ambulance was called to the scene and landed on Wisborough Green’s cricket pitch.

A spokesperson for the air ambulance said paramedics treated a driver for head injuries, and a passenger suffered injuries to her lower leg.

The women were taken to St Richard’s Hospital in Chichester by ambulance.

A spokesperson for Sussex Police said the injuries are believed to be minor.
