The cyclist injured after a crash in Broadbridge Heath this morning (Wednesday May 20) was a 37-year-old man, Sussex Police have revealed.

Officers are appealing for witnesses to the collision, which happened at around 9.05am on the A281 and left the man with a serious head injury.

He was airlifted to St George’s Hospital in Tooting.

The road was closed for almost three hours while emergency services worked at the scene.

Sergeant Neil Cox said: “This was a serious collision and as a result there were some severe delays in the Horsham and Broadbridge Heath areas and Sussex Police would also like to take this opportunity to thank drivers for their patience whilst this collision was being dealt with.”

Police are appealing for witnesses. Anyone with information can contact police by calling 101 and quoting Operation Linford.
