A family has paid tribute to a ‘generous’ and ‘caring’ man who died following an accident on the A24 at Beare Green on Sunday November 9.

He has been named as Robert Worrall, 30, from Beare Green.

In a statement, his family said: “We are devastated as a family to have lost such a dear brother, son, and uncle. Robert was loved by so many people and was lucky to have grown up surrounded by so many loyal friends.

“Rob was a thrill-seeker and threw himself into everything he did. He recently bought a t-shirt which had ‘Just Do It’ written on it. This typified him.

“Snowboarding was a huge passion of his and he enjoyed many happy times with his friends on holidays in Austria and France. We can imagine him now, snowboarding through the clouds.

“He was incredibly generous and always showed caring. He was always a hard and proud worker and spent ten happy years working as a gardener at Groundscapes of Capel.”

His family described Robert as ‘irreplaceable’ and thanked friends and colleagues for support.

The statement said: “We would like to thank all of our family and friends for their overwhelming support at this time which has helped us with the horror of what’s happened.

“We are also grateful for the support shown by his colleagues at Groundscapes and the kindness and understanding of the BoxHill School community where his mother works. He is irreplaceable and we will feel his loss every day.”

Robert had been riding a mountain bike when he was involved in a collision with a vehicle next to the Esso Petrol Station at about 1.25am.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

Surrey Police are appealing for information. Anyone with information can call 101 quoting the reference number P14322368, or contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
