A programme of planting many unusual species of trees has taken place over the years to make the area attractive all year round.

In addition to this, many plants and shrubs have been planted and should in a few years present a most interesting display together with the many wild flowers, which have been sown over the years.

After a walk through, visitors can take a rest on one of the many benches and admire the wide range of trees and flowers and in particular the magnificent copper beeches.

Jonathan Chowen, Horsham District Council’s cabinet member for arts, heritage and leisure, said: “I really encourage people to take up this great opportunity to visit one of the hidden gems of our district at Hills Cemetery. These useful open days give everyone a chance to see what a lovely place it is and to ask any questions they might have.”

Anyone interested in attending is asked to call Horsham District Council on 01403 253191 to register.

Tea and coffee will be available afterwards for which a donation would be welcomed.
