Three people cut free after serious Cowfold crash

One person was flown to hospital with life-threatening head injuries after a serious crash in Cowfold this afternoon (Saturday, November 14).

Three people had to be cut free by firefighters after a BMW and a VW Polo collided on the A281 between Cowfold and its junction with Picts Lane at around 12:45pm.

One person was flown to St George’s Hospital, Tooting, London, with life-threatening head injuries by a Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance helicopter.

The two other casualties were taken by ambulance to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton.

The road was closed in both directions for more than five hours while the crash was investigated and the scene cleared.
