Thousands expected to head to Steyning for Christian festival

THIS Jubilee Bank holiday weekend over 20,000 festivalgoers will be descending on West Sussex as they head to the beautiful Wiston Estate near Steyning for the BigChurchDayOut festival.

The Wiston Estate has been owned by the Goring Family for over 250 years and once a year they open up their house and grounds to allow their friends at the BigChurchDayOut to come in and transform the stunning south downs into a beautiful flag covered landscape of vibrant colour and great music.

Now in its fourth year, the BigChurchDayOut festival attracts the biggest and best Christian and Gospel artists from around the world. With tens of millions of albums sold and numerous Grammyʼs between them the event is one of the biggest on the Christian calendar. People travel from all over Europe to attend.

As the festival takes place on the Jubilee weekend this year the BigChurchDayOut will be taking part in an Eden Project initiative by hosting ‘The Big Jubilee Lunch’.

In 2011 the Eden Project inspired the best part of a million people across the UK to share lunch together as a simple act of community, friendship and fun and this year the BigChurchDayOut will be adding to that number by transforming the food avenue into a giant bunting clad street party, with a live band to keep the people dancing!

Let’s hope the sun shines down on Sussex in June as the festival begins.
