Thought from the Horsham Christian Centre

I don’t know about you but, waking up to the news in recent days just wants me to roll over and go back to sleep again.

It seems that even those people who we grew up to trust are not beyond the temptations of the world. Who can we trust in a world of greed and self? Who can we turn to when things just get too difficult to handle on our own?

How can we ever begin to understand when terrible things happen to the most innocent of those around us? There are no easy or glib answers but the Bible is full of wise sayings and one which I find particularly helpful was written by King Solomon, one of the wisest men ever to have lived.

He said, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding” (Proverbs 3:5). Putting our trust in God won’t take away the bad news but it will offer us a hope of better things in the future.
