Thought from Life Community Baptist Church

Well, December 21 came and went without a hitch. I’m referring to the ‘end of the world’ according to the Ancient Mayan calendar.

Advent is a reflection and preparation for the second coming of Jesus Christ while commemorating his first coming at Christmas. As surely has He came once, the bible is equally clear He will come again. Celebrities were asked how they would spend their last day on earth if they knew. Answers varied from meeting George Clooney to watching the last sun go down with family. But no one does know when – not least the Mayans. Mark 13:32-33 says, ‘No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father’. So we’re told to ‘Be on guard! Be alert. You don’t know when that time will come.’ Whether you die first or Jesus comes again first, the question is ‘Are you ready to meet Him?’ Getting to know and love Him before either happens is the key preparation you need. Happy New Year!
