I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m so, so sorry... I couldn’t help smiling when I saw the spoof music video using Nick Clegg’s sombre televised address apologising for his tuition fees U-turn.
It rapidly went viral on the internet, it’s cleverly done, has a very catchy tune and I expect that for some time people are going to be singing it. What makes a good apology? Only one that you really mean.
I can’t comment on the sincerity of Nick Clegg’s apology but what about us? How easy do we find it to say sorry and mean it when we’ve messed up? Is there someone you need to say sorry to today? What about putting things right with God? Turning away from what’s wrong and turning towards Him.
“But if we confess our sins to God, he will keep his promise and do what is right: He will forgive us our sins and purify us from all our wrongdoing.” (1 John 1:9 Good News Bible)
He’ll forgive us - but we’ve got to mean it.
