Anything can happen, any time - and sometimes all at once! The WSCT last week headlined that emergency services went to a house fire, a serious road collision and a ‘spooked horse’ within minutes of each other.
We never know what’s going to happen next. Life is precious. Each day is a gift to be lived to the full, whatever our circumstances or challenges.
The Olympics certainly gripped most of us. It was inspiring to see athletes seeking to excel in their sport. The Paralympics will surely inspire us even more so.
Here are people with disabilities that could have made them give up – soldiers who lost limbs as they served their country, people visually impaired, many permanently in wheelchairs, yet all determined to make the most of their lives.
What about us? We will never have this day again.
Whatever our circumstances, may God help us to live it to the full and make it count. ‘This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it’ Psalm 118:24
