Teen’s 10-mile swim challenge

A CRANLEIGH teenager is taking on the swimming challenge of a lifetime to raise money for Comic Relief.

Sam Wicks, 13, of Guildford Road, aims to swim 10 miles - 800 laps of the Cranleigh Golf and Country Club pool - on Thursday April 21, all in the name of ‘doing something funny for money’.

Dominic Eagle, club general manager, said: “We are delighted to be able to help Sam with this amazing challenge for Comic Relief.

“Comic Relief is a fantastic charity that helps thousands of people in the UK and in Africa.

“The club helped to raise money for this great cause in March and we are happy to assist in the continuing efforts of the fundraising.

“We wish Sam all the best in his marathon swim and will be cheering him on from the sidelines.”
