Steyning Town manager John Suter was left frustrated by his side’s 1-0 home defeat to Oakwood on Tuesday.
Suter felt his team were the better side and they were twice denied by the woodwork as their winless run increased to eight games.
Kris Harding hit the bar in the first half, before Clive Piller gave Oakwood the lead after a mistake in Steyning’s defence on 69 minutes.
Chad Milner went close to an equaliser but his free kick hit the inside of a post and stayed out.
Suter said: “We were the better side, created more chances, hit the bar and the post and they then score with their first shot.
“It was a cracking game of football but it’s very frustrating to have lost.

“It’s also so disappointing to lose a game when you put in so much effort and work so hard.
“We’ve been the better side in our last two matches, against Worthing United, who will win the league, and Oakwood, who will probably finish in the top three, and we’ve come away with nothing.”
