The village of Storrington is gearing up for its biggest day of the year with a bumper Village Day on Saturday June 23 at the Recreation Ground.
Jointly organised by Storrington’s Rotary Club, District Round Table and Chanctonbury Lions Club, the event is billed as a chance for the three service organisations to thank all the residents and businesses who have supported them.
The public will be entertained with dancing, games, stalls, a book fair, classic cars, live local bands and maybe even a hot air balloon launch.
Refreshments include barbecue snacks, tea, cakes and a licensed bar.
A full programme of events starts at 2pm, with bands No Pressure and More than a Feeling playing from 6pm.
Tony Vaughan, chairman of the Village Day committee, said: “This will be our biggest Village Day event ever with many local groups and entertainers joining in to make the day special.
“We look forward to welcoming everyone in the village and surrounding community to what promises to be a great fun day for the whole family.”
Money raised on the day will be given to local charities, as they have taken in £8,000 over the last two years.
The event is sponsored by Fowlers Estate Agents, Waitrose, C.A. Plant and Yeomans.
Anyone wishing to participate can call David Tolerton on 01903 745357.
