PLANS transforming the layout of the access road and forecourt of Horsham Railway Station are taking shape.

Last week workmen spray-painted markings on the existing access road and kerbside showing an overhaul of the current layout.

With ‘drop kerb’ written alongside them, the lines show the waiting area for pedestrian outside the station would be larger and the access road would be narrower.

However, this week Southern Railway has said work is not imminent and nothing is definite.

A spokesman said: “These marks have been put down to illustrate to us the kind of thing that is possible, so that discussions can begin on the options regarding the new layout.

“There are no fixed plans yet.”

There is therefore no timetable in place for when work would start.
