A team from Billingshurst Family Church have trained with a debt charity to help the local community start preparing for the festive season.
With less than 100 days to go until Christmas, Christians Against Poverty (CAP) are helping people to set aside some money each month in the lead up to the big day rather than relying on costly credit.
Billingshurst Family Church is one of hundreds of churches across the UKoffering free short courses following training from CAP.
The church now offers The Christians Against Poverty Money Course, which is comprises three easy sessions to help set up a household budget and saving.
This course now helps more than 10, 000 people a year control their finances.
Sue Gatland, who will be leading the course, said: “None of us like to think of Christmas when we have only just finished the summer holidays.
“However, our last minute thinking results in desperate buying in December and this costs us all more in the end.
“What we’re saying is, with 100 days to go let’s take charge and have the Christmas we can afford, without the stress.”
The course is available for everyone, and is suitable for all ages and situations.
They will take place on Tuesday evenings from 8pm in October and on Friday mornings from 10am in November.
To book your place, put your postcode into www.capmoneycourse.org or email@example.com or phone church office on 01403 786706.
