During the Olympic Games Southern Rail will increase capacity by an extra 300,000 seats by adding carriages to off-peak services.

Southern has used data on postcode information from ticket sales to plan these service changes.

Extra Southern staff and Southern volunteers will also be available to help at busy stations throughout the Games.

From July 27 to September 9, non fully folding bicycles will not be allowed on services between London Bridge/London Victoria and Gatwick, and any Gatwick Express service, but fully folding bikes will be permitted.

An enhanced service will run all weekend between London (Victoria and Waterloo), Epsom, Dorking and Horsham for spectators travelling to watch the Cycle Road Races at Leatherhead, Box Hill & Westhumble and Dorking on the weekend of July 28/29.

Between July 30 and August 12 and August 29 to September 9 a normal service will run with longer trains and additional late night services.

Horsham Railway Station has also been named by Southern as one of twelve station hotspots for the games.
