A NEW scheme to give talented young sports people in the Horsham District a boost towards realising their dreams was launched to great acclaim this week.

The Set4Success scheme has been created to help provide additional funds for rising stars, and the first monetary awards were handed out at The Capitol in Horsham on Tuesday afternoon by four time Olympic Games swimmer Karen Pickering MBE.

Conceived by the Rotary Club of Horsham when they agreed to help Broadbridge Heath swimmer Callum Hillicks with funding, the Set4Sussex scheme was called an ‘amazing programme’ during the launch ceremony which was compered by children’s entertainer and Set4Success patron Dave Benson Phillips.

Eight rising sports stars were given money to go towards their training and development as athletes, with the promise of 12 months free use of all DC Leisure facilities in the Horsham District.
